Before After

Discover the life-changing benefits of All-on-4 implants—permanent, natural-looking teeth without the wait.

What is an All on 4?

All-on-4 (or All-on-X) is a modern dental solution that replaces a full arch of missing or damaged teeth using just 4 to 6 strategically placed dental implants. This fixed prosthesis offers a stable set of teeth that can often be delivered the same day—making it a popular choice for patients seeking immediate results. The set delivered the same day of the surgery is a temporary set. The permanent set is usually delivered after 3-4 months.  This approach is different than the concept of delivering final teeth after 24 hours of the surgery. There are many benefits to the approach we adopted at Richmond Implant & Smile Studio. See these advantages in the FAQ section.

Commonly known by names like “All-on-4,” “Teeth in a Day,” “Permanent Teeth on Implants,”  or “Full Arch Implants,” this treatment restores both function and aesthetics with a natural-looking smile that doesn’t come in and out like dentures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unlike removable dentures, All-on-4 teeth are screwed to your implants. They provide greater stability, improved chewing function, and a more natural appearance—without slipping or adhesive.

You’ll receive a fixed temporary set of teeth on the same day as your surgery. These are designed to look natural and restore your smile immediately.

Your final, permanent teeth are typically delivered around 4 months after surgery. We do not offer same-day final teeth or final teeth within 24 hours—and here’s why:

  1. Healing First: We want to ensure your implants are fully integrated with the bone for long-term success.

  2. Customization: The temporary teeth allow us to fine-tune the fit, appearance, and function based on your feedback.

  3. Proven Process: This approach is backed by years of clinical success and offers the most reliable, predictable results.

  4. Less stress on your implants: Temporary teeth are more flexible than the final set, which creates a gentle cushioning effect. This helps absorb bite forces and promotes better healing and integration of your implants.

Your smile is a lifelong investment—we do it right the first time.

In most cases, you’ll receive your dental implants and a temporary set of fixed teeth on the same day as your surgery. The final prosthetic teeth are typically placed about 4 to 5 months later, once healing and implant integration are complete.

The surgical portion takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours per arch. For a full-mouth (double arch) procedure, expect about 2 to 3 hours of surgery. Afterward, your temporary teeth are crafted and delivered within 1 to 2 hours.

Altogether, for a double arch treatment, you should plan to be at our office for approximately 5 to 6 hours on the day of surgery.

Most patients are surprised by how little discomfort they experience during and after the All-on-X procedure. The surgery is performed under sedation and local anesthesia, so you won’t feel any pain during the procedure itself.

After surgery, some soreness, swelling, and mild discomfort are normal and can be managed with prescribed medications and home care instructions. The swelling is usually at it’s peak on the third day, but it starts decreasing afterwards. Most patients are able to return to light activities within a week.

All-on-4 teeth are designed to last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. The dental implants themselves can remain securely in place for decades, while the prosthetic teeth are crafted from high-quality, durable material (Zirconia) built to handle daily use.

However, as with any long-term dental solution, some components—such as screws or abutments—may need occasional maintenance or replacement. This is a normal part of preserving the health and function of your new smile.

Staying on top of routine dental visits and practicing excellent oral hygiene will help maximize the lifespan of your All-on-X restoration and reduce the need for future repairs.

Absolutely. All-on-4 dental implants are designed to give you permanent, natural-looking teeth that restore both your smile and your confidence. Each set is custom-made to match your facial features, bite, and desired tooth color—resulting in a smile that looks and feels like your own.

Using advanced materials like zirconia or high-quality acrylic, your new teeth are crafted to mimic the translucency and shape of real teeth. Whether you’re speaking, smiling, or eating, your All-on-4 restoration will blend in beautifully.

At Richmond Implant & Smile Studio, we focus on both function and aesthetics to deliver natural-looking dental implants in Richmond, VA—so you can enjoy a confident, long-lasting smile.

At Richmond Smile & Implant Studio, the cost of All-on-4 dental implants, also known as Teeth in a Day, typically ranges from $19,995 to $22,995 per arch, depending on your specific needs, the materials used, and the complexity of your case.

To make treatment more accessible, most patients choose to finance their dental implants through third-party lenders. Monthly payments often range from $300 to $500 per arch, or around $675/month for full-mouth dental implants, based on approved credit.

At Richmond Smile & Implant Studio, we’ll provide a transparent treatment plan and help you explore all affordable dental implant financing options to fit your budget.

While All-on-4 dental implants are a long-term solution, they do require regular maintenance to keep your smile healthy and functioning properly.

Here’s what proper All-on-4 maintenance includes:

  • Daily Cleaning: Brush twice a day and use a water flosser to clean around the implants and under the prosthesis.

  • Routine Checkups: Visit your implant dentist every 6 months for professional cleanings and exams.

  • Prosthetic Care: Although the implants themselves can last a lifetime, parts like screws, abutments, or the bridge may need adjustments or replacement over time.

  • Nightguard Protection: If you clench or grind your teeth at night, a custom nightguard is strongly recommended. A nightguard is available upon request for $400 and helps protect your investment from wear or damage.

Staying consistent with your maintenance routine helps ensure your All-on-4 implants last for decades and continue to look and feel great.

Smoking does not automatically disqualify you from receiving All-on-4 dental implants, but it does increase the risk of complications.

Nicotine restricts blood flow and slows healing, which can interfere with implant integration and increase the chances of implant failure, infection, or gum issues. Patients who smoke may also experience longer recovery times and reduced long-term success rates.

If you’re not willing to quit, we’ll evaluate your case carefully with a full medical and dental assessment. In some cases, smokers can still be candidates—but extra precautions may be needed, and you should be fully informed about the risks.

For the best possible outcome, we strongly recommend quitting or reducing smoking before and after your All-on-X procedure.
